Jiva Organics Moong Whole is certified organic whole green mung beans, grown without synthetic pesticides. These small, oval green legumes are one of the most versatile and easy-to-digest pulses in Indian cooking, equally at home in a comforting dal, a quick sprout salad or a one-pot khichdi.

How to Use
Rinse thoroughly, then soak for 2 to 4 hours, or overnight for sprouting. Pressure cook with turmeric and salt for a hearty whole moong dal, or boil and temper with cumin, garlic and ginger. Sprouted moong can be eaten raw or lightly steamed.
FAQs
Do I need to soak whole moong before cooking? Soaking for a couple of hours shortens cooking time, though a pressure cooker can handle it with little or no soaking.
Can I sprout these mung beans? Yes. Soak overnight, drain, and keep covered for a day or two until tails appear.
Is whole moong the same as moong dal? Whole moong keeps its green skin, while moong dal is the split, skinned yellow version. They cook and taste a little differently.
Packaged in a facility that also processes tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, soy and wheat. Rinse before cooking.
